Enfield Man and Van Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement is made by Enfield Man and Van in relation to the financial year ending 31 December and sets out the steps we take to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business operations and supply chains. As a provider of removals, transport and related services, we recognise our responsibility to respect human rights and to act ethically and transparently in all our dealings.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Enfield Man and Van has a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour and child labour. We are committed to conducting business in a manner that respects the dignity and rights of every individual and to ensuring that modern slavery has no place within our organisation or among those who supply goods and services to us.
All directors, managers, employees, contractors and temporary workers are required to comply with this policy and to act with integrity at all times. We expect the same high standards from all our suppliers and business partners and we will not knowingly engage with any organisation that does not share our commitment.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Enfield Man and Van operates in the removals and logistics sector, providing local and regional transport, man and van services and associated support. Our supply chains primarily include vehicle leasing and maintenance providers, fuel suppliers, equipment and packaging suppliers, facilities and cleaning contractors and certain professional and administrative service providers.
Given the nature of our activities and our geographic focus, we consider the overall risk of modern slavery within our direct operations to be relatively low. However, we recognise that risks can exist at different levels of the supply chain and we remain vigilant and proactive in addressing them.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We are progressively strengthening our supplier onboarding and management processes to reduce the risk of modern slavery. Our key expectations of suppliers include compliance with all applicable labour, employment and human rights laws, prohibition of forced, bonded or involuntary labour, prohibition of child labour and exploitation and the provision of safe and fair working conditions, including fair wages and reasonable working hours.
Where appropriate and proportionate to the risk profile of the supplier, we carry out checks and audits to assess compliance with these standards. This may include requesting information on labour practices and worker welfare, reviewing relevant policies and certifications and seeking confirmations that suppliers have their own modern slavery controls in place.
If we identify concerns during our due diligence or audit processes, we will work with the supplier to address and remedy them within an agreed time frame. Where serious or unresolved issues are identified, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate the relationship.
Reporting Concerns and Whistleblowing
Enfield Man and Van encourages a culture of openness and accountability. We want all workers, suppliers and other stakeholders to feel able to report any concerns about potential modern slavery or unethical behaviour without fear of retaliation.
Concerns can be raised directly with a manager or senior member of staff or through our internal reporting channels. All reports will be treated seriously, promptly assessed and, where appropriate, investigated. We will respect confidentiality so far as is reasonable and will not tolerate victimisation of anyone who raises a concern in good faith.
Where there is evidence that modern slavery or related exploitation has occurred, we will take immediate action. This may include notifying relevant authorities, cooperating with investigations, working to protect and support affected individuals and reviewing our internal controls to prevent recurrence.
Training and Awareness
We recognise that awareness and understanding are essential to preventing modern slavery. We provide appropriate information and guidance to relevant staff, especially those involved in recruitment, procurement and supplier management, so they can identify warning signs of exploitation and know how to respond.
We aim to reinforce these messages through regular communication and by embedding respect for human rights in our values and day-to-day decision making.
Monitoring, Governance and Annual Review
Responsibility for overseeing our approach to modern slavery rests with senior management, who review key risks, controls and incidents. We monitor the effectiveness of our efforts by reviewing supplier assessments and audit outcomes, analysing any reported concerns and measuring improvements in our processes over time.
This Statement will be reviewed at least annually and updated as necessary to reflect changes in our operations, risk profile, legal requirements and best practice. Enfield Man and Van is committed to continual improvement and to strengthening our systems to combat modern slavery and human trafficking wherever we encounter it.
This Modern Slavery Statement has been approved by the management of Enfield Man and Van and will be made available to employees, suppliers, customers and other interested stakeholders.
